Hot Pursuit Muvie Review
Hot Pursuit tells the story of Cooper(Reese Witherspoon), who is a cop with serious lack of experience in the field. She has a boring desk job at her precinct. She gets a major opportunity when she is asked to provide witness protection services to Daniella Riva(Sofia Vergara). After a major shootout, Cooper & Daniella are on the run from various crooks who want to kill them. If they have to survive this ordeal, Cooper & Daniella have to put their differences aside & work together.
Hot Pursuit is a funny film! It's refreshing to see a buddy comedy with actresses. This movie is comparable to the Jump Street movies starring Jonah Hill & Channing Tatum. Though this film makes you cackle from time to time, it's not consistently funny like the Jump Street films. Reese Witherspoon & Sofia Vergara make a spectacular comedic duo. Their banter is equally good as any other famous male comedic pair. Witherspoon's Cooper & Vergara's Daniella Riva are as different as chalk & cheese & this is the heart of the movie's hilarity. Many of the gags in the film are repeated but, Witherspoon & Vergara make us laugh each time. Can't wait to see these two in more movies together. Matthew Del Negro & Michael Mosley are good as Detective Hauser & Detective Dixon respectively. Robert Kazinsky is great as Randy. Joaquin Cosio & John Carroll Lynch are superb as Vincente Cortez & Captain Emmett respectively. Jim Gaffigan is awesome in his short role as Red. The supporting characters are effective too. Hot Pursuit is not a must watch. However, it doesn't deserve all the negativity that's coming its way & is worth a watch.
